Believe it or not I am an award-winning public speaker. If there’s two things that Toastmasters loves to do it’s clap and hand out trophies. In 2002 I won the Area 21 and Division B humorous speech contests for District 11. That took me to the district competition where I won 3rd place.
A number of people think of speaking as the presentation. That’s only half of it. The other half is writing what it is that you’re going to say. It was then that I focused on the writing. Right after that I left Toastmasters due to a job change. Since then I have since returned but have spent years in the leadership tract. I’m looking forward to getting back to doing the things that I enjoy the most.
