RPG
RPG by IBM was originally Report Program Generator. It was for fixed-column cod for creating “quick and easy” reports. That was when it was created in 1959 and continued through the 1980’s. Today it’s free-format, can be bound to modules of other languages, is backward-compatible, and is more C-like than what what it started as. Sadly, while being rock-solid, it’s now viewed as antiquated as is the IBM i that it runs on. In any case, I am well-versed in it.
